Liquid Fast
A traditional liquid-only fast, for those who sense God leading them into it.

Twenty-One Days of Prayer & Fasting
August 10 – 30
“Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you.” Joshua 3:5
Every move of God begins with a people who make room for Him. Throughout Scripture, seasons of prayer and fasting prepared God’s people for breakthrough, clarity, repentance, mission, and renewal.
This August, we are setting aside twenty-one days to seek Jesus together as one church family. Whether you have fasted many times or this is your first experience, this journey is for you.
Our prayer is simple: Jesus, have all of us.
The fast begins Monday, August 10. Ask the Lord what He is inviting you into — there is no single expression that makes someone more spiritual than another.
A traditional liquid-only fast, for those who sense God leading them into it.
Lay aside something that competes for your affection and attention.
The goal is not punishment; the goal is presence. If you are pregnant, nursing, diabetic, managing a medical condition, or take prescription medication, consult your physician before beginning a food fast — wisdom and faith always belong together.
Every Sunday evening we’ll gather as one church family — the heartbeat of our month together. Thursday nights, come get away with the Lord in soaking prayer.
These gatherings are the heartbeat of our month together. Come to every one you can.
At its core, fasting is not about what we are giving up but about who we are making room for. We willingly lay aside something good because we long for something greater. Fasting does not earn God’s favor — His love for us has already been fully revealed in Jesus. Instead, fasting positions our hearts to hear His voice more clearly.
Some may sense a call to a complete liquid fast for a period of time. Others may choose a Daniel Fast, setting aside meat, sweets, processed foods, and rich meals while eating simply. Others may practice a partial fast by abstaining from food during certain hours of the day, using those moments for prayer and Scripture. Still others may feel led to fast from social media, television, entertainment, or another distraction that has quietly occupied more of their attention than they realized. What matters is a heart that is sincerely seeking the Lord.
If you simply remove food without increasing prayer, worship, and Scripture, you have only changed your diet. The invitation of fasting is to create space that was once occupied by something temporary and fill it with the presence of the eternal God. Read His Word slowly. Sit quietly before Him. Worship often. Journal what He is speaking. Pray for your family, your neighbors, our church, and our city.
Consider writing down what you are believing God for during this month. Pray for deeper intimacy with Jesus, for freedom from habits that have held you back, for wisdom in decisions ahead, for healing where there has been pain, for unity within the Church, and for those who have yet to encounter Christ. Often, the greatest miracle of a fast is not that our circumstances change, but that our hearts do.
If you have health concerns, are pregnant, nursing, diabetic, or take prescription medication, we encourage you to consult your physician before beginning a food fast. Wisdom and faith always belong together. The goal is not to prove our devotion but to pursue Jesus with integrity and humility.
Don’t rush back to old rhythms. If you have completed a longer food fast, reintroduce meals slowly and with wisdom. More importantly, hold on to the practices that have drawn you near to the Lord. Our hope is that these twenty-one days establish a lifelong rhythm of abiding in Christ.
“Lord, make us a people who know Your presence, carry Your heart, and faithfully obey Your voice.”
We want to pray with you. Send us your request and our team will stand with you this month.
